The town of Lewis.
In July 1865 a group of Welsh settlers landed on an empty stretch of Patagonian coast, looking for somewhere they could live in their own language. What they found was a dry plateau and a valley, the Chubut river valley, fertile and completely cut off.
The first thing they built was not a town: it was a system of canals to carry the river water to the land. The second was a railway down to the sea, because a valley that produces and cannot move what it produces is still an empty valley.
The station on that line was founded in 1886 and named Trelew. In Welsh, “tre” means town and “Lew” is Lewis, after Lewis Jones, the man who pushed the railway through. The town of Lewis.
We took the name because it describes the job. Those settlers did not invent the valley and they did not invent the sea. They looked at what was already there, understood why it was not working, and built the infrastructure that connected one to the other.
That is, quite literally, what we do to a company.

Where we come from.
Trelew Labs is an Argentine company with a Spanish soul, and it knows what Spanish SMEs need when it comes to automating their procedures. We work in Spanish, and in English for anyone who needs it.
We did not come up through selling software projects. We came up building them, and running them, for a real group of companies, with its entities, its accounting, its building sites, its invoicing and its quirks. You will notice it in the first meeting: we will ask about your procedure before we ask about your budget.
What we do not have yet.
The company is new and we are not going to hide it. You will not find client logos here, or testimonials, or a count of projects delivered. When we have them, and permission to talk about them, they will go up.
What we do have is the experience of building exactly this kind of system, and the habit of saying what we can do and what we cannot.
